LATEST INFORMATION for OEM InterWave(tm) Audio Card
Version 2.00 (Ver2_R1B8)
1. WINDOWS 95 INSTALLATION
- To install in Windows 95, when Windows 95 displays "Found New Hardware",
choose "Install Drivers From Vendor Disk" and insert the CD-ROM and/or
floppy disk which includes the InterWave audio card drivers.
- Choose Windows default driver for "Game Port/Joystick". You may be
required to provide the Windows 95 installation CD-ROM and/or floppy
disk set at this time.
- At the end of installation, Windows 95 will prompt you to reboot your
system to activate all installed software.
- On some systems, Windows 95 may prompt you to reboot the system during
the above process to complete some additional PnP Auto-Configuration.
If this is the case and you do not see any InterWave folder created
after complete device driver installation, run "a:\setup.exe" to
copy some more files for application files and creation of groups.
- To play DOS games under Windows 95, create a new MS-DOS BOX by short-cut
shell method that will automatically setup the environment for DOS
game operation.
- Uninstall program does not remove the following:
- \interwav.rom\dos\iwinit.exe (autoexec.bat)
- \interwav.rom\win95\gamebox (autoexec.bat)
- \interwav.rom\dos\emm386.exe (config.sys)
The Uninstall program does remove the InterWave Audio Card applications
on the hard disk and retrieves all the used disk space.
2. TECHNICAL TIPS
- Insure that Windows 95 is loaded in a system before installing the
InterWave Audio Card. If Windows 95 must be reloaded, remove the
audio card before loading Windows 95 and then reinstall after
Windows 95 has been loaded.
- The autodetect function to determine which sound card is in use, does
not function properly in some games (i.e., Descent). These games
will function properly when set up manually. Use of the autodetect
function in game set-up is NOT RECOMMENDED.
- The InterWave audio card software includes an updated version of
EMM386 (dated 7-11-95; 125,495 bytes). If an older version of EMM386
is used some games will not function properly. These games work
properly if the updated EMM386 is used. Games known to exhibit
problems with the older version of EMM386 include:
╖ HardBall 4
╖ Shadow Caster
╖ Cyberia
╖ Dragon Lore
╖ Links Golf
╖ Sim City 2000
╖ Sam and Max Hit the Road
╖ Theme Park
╖ Rise of the Robots
╖ Nascar
╖ Renegade
╖ Shadow Presidents
╖ Blue Force
╖ Jet Fighter 2
╖ Darklands
